Our South Melbourne warehouse has been designed by our Canvas House team to be a clean and contemporary funeral and wake venue. Our whitewashed exposed original brick walls and high contrast black steel support beams provide a highly customisable space that’s filled to the brim with potential. You can hang framed photographs and other keepsakes of your lost loved one all around our funeral and wake venue, and even use Canvas House’s high performance AV system to run memorial videos and slideshows for your mourners to take in. We even have handheld and headset microphones on hand to cater for memorial services that may like to host a performance or sign a hymn in honour of the departed.
And if you’d prefer to add a spiritual element to your funeral or wake, then just a quick walkthrough of our South Melbourne funeral and wake venue will reveal just how cathedral-like our space can become. Our converted warehouse is fitted with a breathtaking 6 metre high cathedral-style vaulted ceiling, so you can feel like you’re at church without even needing an altar or pews.
We’ve taken efforts to ensure that our funeral and wake venue here at Canvas House is fully non-denominational and accepting of all faiths, allowing for memorial services that incorporate multiple or even no religious ceremonies. And if there are any additional decor items or furnishings that you may need to host your funeral or wake, you can easily bring these items through our rear loading door which has a clearance of 2.6 metres.
